In October 1989, he began his internship as an attorney at the Antwerp Bar and received general training, specialising in commercial law and contract law, particularly in lease agreements and general contract law.

Benedict has been working with Bruno Schoenaerts since 1989, with whom he forms the Schoenaerts & Lamiroy law firm. He also became a partner at Lawcity.be in July 2012.

Benedict Lamiroy is a generalist but is mainly active in the practice areas of commercial leases, real estate, contract law (both commercial and civil contracts), juvenile law, general civil law and civil procedure. He always works on the basis of a thorough analysis of the merits and weaknesses of a case, in order to assist and advise the client as efficiently as possible in legal proceedings, expert assessments, negotiations and more.

Steven MARIS

Attorney

With a Master’s degree in law from the Catholic University of Leuven and a strong interest in the legal profession, Steven Maris started his traineeship at Lawcity.be in 2010. Six years later, on January 1, 2016, he became a partner.

Today, Steven mainly handles cases related to commercial law (including copyright and IT law) and planning.

From September 2019 until December 2024, Steven has served as (an expert) chairman of the GECORO (Municipal Planning Commission) of the Municipality of Herenthout.

From a young age, he has been actively involved in associations and charities during his spare time. During his studies, Steven organized numerous large events for VZW VRG, the official faculty association of Leuven law students. He was part of the general assembly of VRG up to six years after his graduation.

Today, Steven is a member of the Round Table ā€˜Ronde Tafel 56 Mechelen’, where he supports various charities. In addition, Steven is also a member of the Legal Working Group of the Belgian Luxembourg Council of Shopping Centers (BLSC).

In the same year that Steven De Coster graduated with honours in law from the Catholic University of Leuven, he established his own law firm in Brasschaat in 1984.

Over the years – the first seven of which he spent as an assistant at his old university – Steven grew his one-man practice into a dynamic law firm with several partners and attorneys.

Steven specialises mainly in the construction and real estate sectors, the ICT sector and business in general.

Since 2015, he has been a member of the Legal Working Group of the Belgian Luxembourg Council of Shopping Centres (BLSC). In addition, Steven holds a doctoral degree, studying the legal aspects of property development.

His interest in construction law, civil law and civil procedure has led to several legal publications.
